Exploring Edinburgh with £20!
Your new mates want to head out and explore Edinburgh but you'd like to stick to your budget?
No problem!
We've put some suggestions together of places to check out if you're watching how much you're spending. Suggest some of these to your friends to join you and we're sure they'll be more than happy to get involved.
To see your new home in the best possible way, it's worth tackling Arthur's Seat. Being up there is the best place to take the city in and it's a pretty impressive achievement too. Remember to wrap up though, you know what Scottish weather is like!
After all that walking, surely it's time for lunch? You're spoilt for choice when it comes to eating out in Edinburgh but we've picked a couple of great budget eats. Meltmongers makes the most epic toasties in town! With a price range between £5 and £8, you get more than enough for your money. Food coma, anyone?
Another favourite of ours is El Cartel. Pretty much everyone likes Mexican food (right?), so rally your mates together and get some tacos. Every order comes with two tacos so you could order a few and share them amongst you to save a bit of extra cash. Stay away from the tequila though!
If you're in the mood to continue exploring then Edinburgh Gin Distillery is your next stop. Did you know that you can do a tour of the distillery for just £10 and that includes a FREE gin & tonic? Head to their website and see what's available because it's pretty popular so you need to book in advance.
Afterwards, head to one of the best live music spots in Edinburgh. Whistle Binkies is the place to be from Sunday to Thursday because you get to watch up to FOUR live bands for free entry. They have open mic nights too if you fancy it!
There you have it, that's our recommendations for a day of fun in Edinburgh - yes, it's pretty packed but you can always miss a strep.
The main point is that it that won't break the bank AND it's all fun!
