International Students: Arrivals
Are you arriving in Edinburgh from abroad?
Depending where you are arriving from, you may be asked to quarantine (self-isolate) upon arrival. The rules apply to all travel to Scotland, by train, ferry, coach, air or any other route.
Please read Scottish Government’s protocol on international travel thoroughly to be sure that you understand the rules which apply to you. Also be aware that countries may move between lists at short notice so make sure you check the status of the country you are travelling from before you travel
If you are arriving from an Amber list country and required to self-isolate for 10 days, AND have booked your on campus accommodation for year 2021/2022, then you can head directly to our beautiful campus. If you are flying in, we recommend you to take a taxi - it's only 15 minutes 😊
Once you arrive on campus, you can pick up your keys from the Main Reception and then head to your Hall of Residence. Main Reception team will provide you with more information regarding your new accommodation, and if you require, a free UK simcard.
You will be provided with a basic care package to help you settle in. This includes kitchen items, food and a bedding pack to ensure you have all you need when you arrive.
Note: If you are required to self-isolate on arrival as per Scottish Government, you MUST contact the Accommodation team or Reslife team prior to your arrival. When arriving from a country on the Amber or Green list, a PCR testing Kit must be purchased in advance of arrival and addressed to your campus accommodation. Once ordered, forward a copy of the receipt to firstname.lastname@example.org as proof of purchase.
You need to do this before you arrive in the UK so we can support you with during your mandatory self-isolation period. Please be advised, we are unable to support your arrival and self-isolation without prior notice.
