NHS Vaccination Centre on campus

By BzBarlow 07 Sep 2021

In need of your first or second COVID vaccine?

The NHS Vaccination Centre is now open between 12 and 7pm for the next 2 weeks at the Postgraduate Centre, Edinburgh Campus. The centre is a drop-in facility open to all students.

  • This is an NHS operated facility with qualified NHS clinical staff administering the vaccination (it’s the same as any other NHS Vaccination Centre – it just happens to be on campus).
  • It is for students and staff who have not had their first or second vaccination. NHS clinical staff will advise on all matters relating to vaccinations to be received.
  • You do not need to be registered with a GP before receiving the vaccination, but you should register before your second vaccination as the NHS cannot link your vaccination history if you do not register, which might cause problems in future (i.e. travel, vaccination passports).  Students who live on campus, or in Edinburgh, can register at the University Medical Practice on Campus.
  • If you are self-isolating you should complete your period of self-isolation before you go to a vaccination centre.
  • International students who have received a vaccine that isn’t available in the UK, but want to get a second vaccination in the UK should discuss this with staff at the vaccination centre. The most similar alternative will be offered to you by NHS staff. Please bring any information about your first vaccination with you to the vaccination centre.
